Tasting notes

After a long, dry winter, the season began with a cool to warm spring, followed by a summer that was on the cool side, especially when compared to 2020. The cooler conditions between January and the time the grapes were harvested generated an optimal ripening process, so the grapes had outstanding aromatic intensity, making for long, tense wines with perfect nervous balance. This is an exceptional and unique vintage with dynamic and soft tannins, tension, pronounced acidity and great length.

VIK 2021 stands out for its elegant mouthfeel, with firm yet finely polished tannins that vibrate with unique energy, unfolding along a refined and sophisticated line. Unforgettable minerality and delicate graphite notes lead to an ethereal, lingering finish. On the nose, it reveals perfectly ripened red and black fruits, layered with spicy nuances and hints of white and black pepper that bring dynamism, complemented by subtle notes of blue flowers. A wine that embodies the spirit of its terroir and VIK’s unwavering vision for excellence, even in the face of global adversity.
