| Tasting notes | Vega Sicilia Único 2015 is a powerful, refined and deeply layered expression of Ribera del Duero, showing the estate’s signature combination of richness, structure and long ageing. The nose opens with dark cherry, blackberry, plum and cassis, layered with cedar, cigar box, sweet spice, leather, tobacco, dried herbs and subtle balsamic complexity. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and polished, with ripe dark fruit framed by fine-grained tannins, savoury oak integration and a long, composed line of acidity. Notes of black cherry, blueberry, clove, graphite, cocoa, vanilla, earth and spice build through the mid-palate, finishing long, elegant and persistent. Already released with significant estate ageing, the 2015 is beginning to show complexity, but still has the density, balance and structure to continue developing for decades. A benchmark Spanish icon for collectors who value power, patience and longevity. |
